Netanyahu slams ‘insane’ conspiracy theories linking Israel to Charlie Kirk’s death
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed wild conspiracy theories that his government was involved in Charlie Kirk’s assassination — floating the idea that the lies could be Qatari-funded.
“Somebody has fabricated a monstrous big lie — that Israel had something to do with Charlie Kirk’s horrific murder,” he said in a social media video posted Wednesday morning Israeli time. “This is insane, it is false, it is outrageous.”
Netanyahu said Kirk loved Israel and the Jewish people, and had sent a supportive letter to the Israeli leader recently before his death.
“Now, if Charlie disagreed with a policy of mine or a decision here and there, not only did I not mind, I welcomed it,” Netanyahu said. “This is the essence of Charlie, this is the essence of a free country, it’s exactly what Charlie stood for.”
