Russia Warns US Against Western Missile Strikes into Russian Territory
Tensions between Russia and the United States have escalated further, with Russia warning that permitting Ukraine to launch Western missile strikes into its territory could lead to a significant escalation of the conflict.
According to reports, Ukrainian authorities are urging Western arms donors to approve the use of their weapons for long-range strikes deep inside Russia. However, Russia has cautioned the US and other Western nations that such actions could have severe and far-reaching consequences, potentially spreading the conflict beyond Europe’s borders.
In a statement, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov described the situation as “asking for trouble” and accused the West of seeking to escalate the Ukraine war. He warned that “playing with fire” – referring to the use of military might without careful consideration – could lead to disastrous consequences.
