11 dead and 5 injured in Mexico shooting...where guns are practically illegal

Eleven people have been killed and a further five injured after gunmen went on a rampage at a hotel and two bars in Mexico.

The horrifying scenes happened at the Gala hotel and in two bars in the Lindavista neighbourhood, in the city of Celaya - north west of Mexico City.

The attacks started at about 10pm local time on Monday night.

Police and emergency services rushed to the scene as locals say more than 30 gunshots were heard.

A group of armed men wearing hoods arrived in two trucks, Telemundo20 reports.

Witnesses told local news that about 15 men launched the attack at the hotel and nearby bar.
